Note 1

2 keel bolts were drawn in 1995 and were found to be in excellent condition, apart from wastage at the end of the thread on one, which was renewed.

Note 2

The hull has been cascover sheathed from new to the raised rubbing strake. In March 2005 the hull was carefully sand blasted back to remove all antifouling and reveal the cascover sheathing beneath the waterline. The cascover was found to be in “as new” condition which was remarkable. The cascover on the rudder, however, was removed and not replaced. It was primed 3 coats, 2 coats of undercoat and top coat. The cascover was obviously applied during the build process, as the owner wanted to sail in the warmer waters of the Mediterranean, and the sheathing keeps out the worm.

Note 3

Topsides totally repainted 2006.

Footnote

We purchased “Simo” in February 2005, and with retirement looming, planned to refit her after a hectic 2005 season, and sail her to shores abroad where the sun shines with a bit more regularity than in the U.K. We left in June 2006 from the Humber and went to Ipswich, Ramsgate, Brighton, Dartmouth, Plymouth and Falmouth. We then took a big breath and set out across Biscay, a four day trip. The first two days, absolutely fantastic, force 4, moon at night . . . . . then we had force 6, 7, 8, for two days and two nights, o.k. it was from the north, right behind us (it does get a bit tiring), but we made it. We then looked at the rias in north Spain, Portugal and then . . . . . well, our trip continues, but we have decided that we love the life so much that we want to do it all the time, We shall be sad to sell “Simo”, very sad. She is a fantastic little boat, that even when the going gets tough, she loves it and really looks after you. So, She will become part of your family, (she did ours).
